9DOUBLE-INSULATED MACHINESIMPORTANT240 volt 50 Hz. machines are fitted with a 13 amp. 3 pinmoulded plug. the plug is fitted with a 13 amp. detachablefuse. The correct replacement for the fuse is identified bymarking or colour coding. Only fuses that are ASTAapproved to BS 1362 should be fitted. Never use the plugwithout the fuse cover fitted. Replacement fuse covers areavailable at any electrical retail outlet.If the available socket outlet is not suitable for the plugsupplied, the plug must be cut off and an appropriate plugfitted. The plug thus cut off MUST BE DESTROYED forsafety reasons before being disposed of.Machines built for other voltages and frequencies are notnormally supplied with a fitted plug.If it is necessary to fit a plug, the wires in this power supplycord are coloured in accordance with the following code:BLUE-NEUTRALBROWN-LIVETo connect the new plug:If using a three-pin plug, do not make any connection to thethe terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘E’or by the safety earth symbol or coloured green orgreen & yellow. This machine is double-insulated and noearth connection is necessary.The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to theterminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘N’ or iscoloured black or blue.The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to theterminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘L’ or iscoloured red or brown.If the plug to be fitted does not conform to the abovenotation then consult a qualified electrician.GROUNDED MACHINESIMPORTANT240 volt 50 Hz. machines are fitted with a 13 amp. 3 pinmoulded plug. the plug is fitted with a 7 amp. detachable fuse.The correct replacement for the fuse is identified by markingor colour coding.
