MAINTENANCENINJA INTL 86038610 03/29/07 4-1Unplug power cord(s)before servicing ormaking any repairs .DAILY MAINTENANCE1. Flush the entire system, including floor tool,hand tool, etc., with 1 to 3 gallons of clean, hotwater.2. Vacuum out the solution tank.3. Rinse tank with fresh water. Periodicallyinspect the recovery tank and decontaminate ifnecessary, using a Hospital Grade Virucide ora 1-10 bleach to water solution. Wastewatershould be disposed of properly.4. Occasionally check filter screen at the bottomof the solution tank and rinse clean with hotwater if necessary.5. Inspect hoses for wear. Frayed or crackedhoses should be replaced to avoid vacuum orsolution pressure loss.6. Inspect power cord for wear or damage. Thiscable will lie on wet carpet. To preventelectrical shock replace cords that are frayedor have cracked insulation immediately.7. Clean all dirt and obstructions from drain valveand gaskets to prevent possible leakage andpremature wear.8. Run clean water through solution pump whenwork is complete.9. Empty both tanks and rinse, run vacuum (s) forat least one minute to dry motor(s).10. Store with access covers removed to allowtanks to dry.DO NOT attempt torepair hose!Repairing high-pressure hoses may result in severe burns andserious injury.PERIODIC MAINTENANCE1. Twice a month, flush a white vinegar solution(One quart vinegar to two gallons of water) oranti-browning solution (mixed as directed)through the extractor, turning pump switchon/off several times, flush with clean water.This will prevent build-up of alkaline residue inthe system.2. Check hoses for wear, blockages, or damage.Frayed or cracked hoses should be repaired orreplaced to eliminate vacuum or solutionpressure.3. Check all handles, switches, knobs, electricalcables and connections on your machine fordamage. If the cable insulation is broken orfrayed, repair or replace it immediately. Don’ttake chances with electrical fire or shock.4. Clean out solution tank. Remove and cleansolution screen.5. Clean outside of all tanks and check fordamage.MONTHLY MAINTENANCE1. Check all bearings for noise and wear.2. Check all gaskets for wear and leakage.3. Check pump pressure; observe spray patternand check gauge if necessary.4. Check overall performance of machine.SEMI-ANNUALLY1. Check vacuum motor brushes.LUBRICATIONFor pressure regulator and pump cam lubrication,use a light silicone lubricant which will not damageo-rings. A small tube (86246790 – PRV NO.51391) is supplied with your machine.STORAGEThoroughly clean machine if it is to be stored. Youmust protect this machine from freezing while instorage.By using the Self Priming Lever you may help clearout all water lines.Make sure both recovery and solution tanks areempty. Turn on both vacuum switches and presslever. All water should be removed and sprayedinto the recovery tank.Empty the remaining water and wipe dry.HEAT MODELS ONLY: Be sure to thoroughlydrain water out of heater lines prior to storage incolder climates. This heater will freeze andpossibly crack voiding your warranty.
