(Characters that are not supported by Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi software will be displayed as ‘?’.)DATE & TIME Change the date and time.TOUCH SCREEN Calibrate the Touch Screen when it is not working properly.3D CALIBRATION Calibrate the 3D Screen.SOUND Change the speaker sound output settings.MIC TEST Check that the microphone is working correctly. If the icon on the lower screen changes colour when youspeak or gently blow into the microphone, the microphone is functional.OUTER CAMERAS Calibrate the outer cameras.CIRCLE PAD Calibrate the Circle Pad when controls do not seem to operate properly or when in-game movement seemsto occur even when not using the Circle Pad.SYSTEM TRANSFER Transfer data from your Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL system to your Nintendo 3DS XL system, orbetween Nintendo 3DS / Nintendo 3DS XL systems (page 65).LANGUAGE Change the language of the system.SYSTEM UPDATE Update the system software (page 70).FORMAT SYSTEM MEMORY Format the system to erase data stored in the System Memory, such as photographs, software and savedata (page 70).System TransferTransfer data from your Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL system to your Nintendo 3DS XL system, or transferdata between Nintendo 3DS / Nintendo 3DS XL systems.Note:• You will need to be connected to the internet to transfer data. The systems will also connect to each other viaLocal Play. It is recommended that both systems be placed close together in an area with stable internet access(page 55).• To prevent the systems from running out of power during the transfer, ensure that the battery on each systemis well charged, or plug in the AC adapter before starting the transfer. If the battery charge is too low, you willnot be able to transfer data.• Closing your Nintendo 3DS XL system at this time will not activate Sleep Mode. Additionally, please do not turnthe power off while data transfer is taking place.Source System(Nintendo DSi orNintendo DSi XL)TransferTarget System(Nintendo 3DS XL)Download the Transfer ToolIn order to transfer data from a previous system (Nintendo DSi orNintendo DSi XL) to your Nintendo 3DS XL system, you fi rst needto download the free Nintendo 3DS System Transfer tool from theNintendo DSi Shop on the previous system.Note: For more information on the Nintendo DSi Shop, please refer toyour Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL Operations Manual.Transfer Nintendo DSiWare and photos / recordings from a Nintendo DSi / Nintendo DSi XL system to aNintendo 3DS XL system.Note: You cannot transfer from a Nintendo 3DS XL system to a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL system.
