Inadequate ventilation canresult in overheating, possibly causing damage to thedevice(s), or even fire.• Do not use the speaker’s handles for suspended installation.Doing so can result in damage or injury.• Do no expose the device to excessive dust or vibrations,or extreme cold or heat (such as in direct sunlight, near aheater, or in a car during the day) to prevent the possibilityof panel disfiguration or damage to the internalcomponents.• Do not place the device in an unstable position where itmight accidentally fall over.CONNECTIONS• Before connecting the device to other devices, turn of thepower for all devices. Before turning the power on or offfor all devices, set all volume levels to minimum.CAUTION• When turning on the AC power in your audio system,always turn on the device LAST, to avoid speaker damage.When turning the power off, the device should be turnedoff FIRST for the same reason.• Do not insert your fingers or hands in any gaps oropenings on the device (ports, etc.).• Avoid inserting or dropping foreign objects (paper, plastic,metal, etc.) into any gaps or openings on the device(ports, etc.) If this happens, turn off the power immediatelyand unplug the power cord from the AC outlet. Thenhave the device inspected by qualified Nissindo servicepersonnel.• Do not use the device for a long period of time at a highor uncomfortable volume level, since this can causepermanent hearing loss. If you experience any hearingloss or ringing in the ears, consult a physician.• Do not operate the device if the sound is distorting.Prolonged use in this condition could cause overheatingand result in fire.• Do not rest your weight on the device or place heavyobjects on it, and avoid use excessive force on the buttons,switches or connectors.GETTING STARTEDWIRINGIMPORTANT: Make sure all equipment is turned off beforemaking any connections.For speaker connections, use a high-quality speaker wire withpolarity coding. The side of the wire with a ridge or othercoding is usually considered positive polarity.If desired, consult Nissindo technical support forspeaker wire and connection options.The speakers have coded terminals that accept a variety orwire connectors.To ensure proper polarity, connect each + terminal on theback of the amplifier or receiver to the respective + (red)terminal on each speaker. Connect the – (black) terminals ina similar way. See the owner’s guides that were includedwith your amplifier, receiver and television to confirm connec-tion procedures.IMPORTANT: Do not reverse polarities (i.e., + to – or – to +)when making connections. Doing so will cause poorimaging and diminished bass response.ADJUSTINGCheck the speakers for playback, first by setting the systemvolume control to a minimum level, and then by applyingpower to your audio system. Play a favorite music or videosegment and increase the system volume control to a comfort-able level.You should hear balanced audio reproduction acrossthe entire frequency spectrum. If not, check all wiringconnections or consult the authorized dealer from whom youpurchased the system for more help.The amount of bass you hear and the stereo-image qualitywill be affected by a number of different factors, including theroom’s size and shape, the construction materials used tobuild the room, the listener’s position relative to the speakers,and the position of the speakers in the room.Listen to a variety of music selections and note the bass level.If there is too much bass, move the speakers away fromnearby walls. Conversely, if you place the speakers closer tothe walls, there will be more bass output.CARINGEach enclosure has a finish that does not require any routinemaintenance. When needed, use a soft cloth to remove anyfingerprints or dust from the enclosure or grille.NOTENOTE |
