7RedGreenYellow RedOrange4-4 Side Slip Detection FunctionIf the Magnet sideways while drilling holes, the DrillMotor moves will stop turning and the feed will stop.The green and yellow indicator lamps are lighted whenthe electric drill and its feed stop.4-5 Automatic Step FeedThe switch to step feed occurs automatically when thecutter has lost its sharpness.When working on deep holes or large diameter holes,chips are produced intermittently and ejectedsmoothly.4-6 Restart Prevention Function (For QA-6500)When a power failure has occurred while the tool wasbeing used, the restart prevention function operateswhen the power is restored.If the drill stops during operation because of theinterruption of the power supply or accidentalunplugging of the power supply, the green and yellowindicator lamps are lighted and the magnet regainsits attracting power, but the electric drill does not rotatewhen the power supply resumes, or is plugged.To resume work, turn the Switch Knob back to the MagnetOn position then forward to the Motor On position and theDrill Motor will start turning.5 PREPARATIONSWARNINGWhen making preparations, set the Switch Knob(operating switch) to Off and remove the Power Plugfrom the power supply.5-1 Accessory InstallationThe Side Handle, an accessory, should be mountedon the Drill Motor.5-2 Concerning Cutter UsageCAUTIONCutters other than one-touch type can not be used.For better working and greater safety, do not useworn or broken cutters.5-3 Cutter PrecautionsWhen you need cutters other than the one-ouch typesupplied as accessories, refer to Optional Extras, items10-2, 10-3 and 10-4, before you buy.4 ELECTRONIC CONTROL FUNCTIONS4-1 Load DetectorIf there is an overload during drilling, the followingfunctions are automatically activated. The load detectormay not function properly if the power supply is an enginegenerator or the power voltage is too high or too low.(1) Load Indication FunctionThe lamps indicate the load on the Drill Motor. As theload increases, the indicator lamps flash on in a colorsequence of green, yellow and orange starting from theleft (green). (Fig. 12)(Fig. 12)(2) Automatic Feed Control FunctionThis system automatically controls the feed rate whereseveral seconds after start-up of the drilling itautomatically slowly starts to feed and then the ratevaries depending on the load condition of the Drill Motor.The feed rate is also automatically regulated accordingto the cutter diameter.(3) Automatic Stop FunctionBoth the drilling and feeding operations stopautomatically and the red stop lamp comes on wheneverthere is an excessive load on the Drill Motor, preventingthe Drill Motor and cutter from breaking. If the cutter isdull, however, breakage may be inevitable.4-2 Automatic Return FunctionWhen the drilling is completed and there is no longera load placed on the Drill Motor, the feed motorautomatically reverses and retracts the Drill Motorupward.4-3 Limit Switch FunctionWhen the stroke reaches its upper limit, the LimitSwitch stops both the Drill Motor and feed. Even in casethe automatic return function fails at the end of the drillingallowing the Drill Motor to continue downward, the LimitSwitch stops both the Drill Motor and feed when thestroke reaches its lower limit. The green and yellowindicator lamps are lighted when the electric drill and itsfeed stop. |
