P r o f i l e s448. ProfilesProfiles define how your phone functions when you receive a call or message,how your keypad sounds when you press a key, and more. Ringing options,keypad tones, and other settings for each of the available profiles can be left atthe default setting or customized to suit your needs. The following profiles areavailable: Normal, Silent, Meeting, Outdoor, and Pager.Profiles are also available for enhancements such as a headset and car kit. See"Enhancement settings," p. 51, for more information about enhancementprofiles.■ ActivateIn the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles > the profile of your choice >Activate.■ Customize a profileYou can customize the profiles in a variety of ways.You cannot rename the Normal profile.1. In the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles.2. Highlight the profile you wish to customize; select Customize, and the optionyou want to customize.■ Set a timed profileTimed profiles can prevent missed calls. For example, if you attend an event thatrequires your phone to be Silent, but you forget to return it to Normal, a timedprofile returns your phone to the default profile at the time you specify. Timedprofiles can be set up to 24 hours in advance.1. In the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles.2. Select the profile you wish to activate and Timed for timed expiration.3.
