9The repetition rate of the battery-low warnings depends onthe remaining battery capacity and the battery condition.The warnings are more frequent when you’re in a call.Note: If you’ve selected the Vibra Only or Silent RingingOption, you won’t hear any warning tones. See “RingingOptions (Menu 3 1)” on page 37.When the battery charge is too low for the phone to work,the phone displays RECHARGE BATTERY, then beeps,then shuts itself off.Charge the battery as described earlier in this section.Deep DischargeIf you regularly just ‘top up’ the charge in your battery with-out ever allowing it to fully discharge first, its life will beshortened. In order to get the maximum life from your bat-tery you should allow it to discharge completely aboutonce a month.To discharge the battery completely:1) Leave the phone switched on until RECHARGEBATTERY appears, then let the phone switch offautomatically.2) Leave the phone alone for about 30 minutes (and donot connect a charger within this time) after itswitches itself off.During this 30 minutes, the phone is in ‘DeepDischarge’ mode. The way to ‘wake up’ the phone isto connect it to a charger.3) Fully charge the battery after Deep Discharge.
