General information■ Access codes• Security code: This code, which is supplied with your phone, protectsyour phone against unauthorised use. The preset code is 12345.For more information on using the security code, see "Securitysettings" on page 50.• PIN code: This code, which may be supplied with your SIM card,protects the card against unauthorised use. If you activate the PINcode request function in the Security settings menu, the code isrequested each time the phone is switched on.If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in succession, the SIMcard is blocked. You must enter the PUK code to unblock the SIM cardand set a new PIN code.• PIN2 code: This code may be supplied with the SIM card and isrequired to access some functions, such as charging unit counters.Change the security code, PIN code, and PIN2 code in Access codes inthe Security settings menu. Keep the new codes secret and in a safeplace separate from your phone.• PUK and PUK2 codes: These codes may be supplied with the SIM card.If this is not the case, contact your service provider.• Barring password: This code is needed when using the Call barringservice function in the Security settings menu.Copyright © 2004 Nokia.
