P h o n e a t a g l a n c e9■ Standby modeDepending on your wireless service providerand the model number of your phone, someor all of the following selection keys mayappear in the standby mode.The standby mode is home baseand indicates your phone is idle.Signal strength (1)—More bars indicatea stronger network signal.Menu (2)—Press the center selection keyto select this option.Go to (3)—Press the left selection key to select this option.Names or network operator menu (4)—Press the right selection key to selectthis option.Battery level (5)—A filled-in battery icon indicates a fully charged battery.■ Shortcut keysDepending on your wireless service provider and your phone, some or all of thefollowing scroll key shortcuts may be available in the standby mode.In the standby mode, the four-way scroll and center selection keys instantlytake you to frequently accessed menus:Scroll up—Go to the contacts list or network operator menu.Scroll right—View the calendar.Scroll down—Go to the contacts list.Scroll left—Create a text message.Center selection key—Selects menus and submenus to which you have scrolled.■ Indicators and iconsTo identify all the icons on your phone, select Menu > Settings > Phone details >Icon details.■ Phone menusPhone features are grouped according to function and are accessed through themain menus. Each main menu contains submenus and lists from which you canselect or view items and customize your phone features. You can access thesemenus and submenus by using the scroll method or by using a shortcut.
