Connect the charger to an ACwall socket.The text Charging is displayedbriefly if the phone is switchedon. If the battery is completelyempty, it may take a few minutesbefore the charging indicatorappears on the display or anycalls can be made.The charging time depends on thecharger and the battery used. Forexample, charging a BL-5C batterywith the ACP-7 charger takes up to 3hours in standby mode.■ Switching the phoneon and offWarning: Do not switch thephone on when wirelessphone use is prohibited orwhen it may causeinterference or danger.Press and hold thepower key .If the phone asks fora code, key in thecode (displayed as****).■ Normal operatingpositionUse the phone onlyin its normaloperating position.Your phone has abuilt-in antenna.As with any otherradio transmittingdevice, do nottouch the antennaunnecessarilywhen the phone is switched on.Contact with the antenna affectscall quality and may cause the phoneto operate at a higher power levelthan otherwise needed.Not touching the antenna areaduring a phone call optimises theantenna performance and thetalktime of your phone.■ Keypad lock (Keyguard)You can lock the keypad to preventthe keys being accidentally pressed.Press (Menu or Unlock) andthen within 1.5 seconds to lockor unlock the keypad.An incoming call can be handlednormally.
