However, certain electronicequipment may not be shielded againstthe RF signals from your wireless phone.PACEMAKERSPacemaker manufacturers recommendthat a minimum separation of at least 6inches (approximately 20 cm) bemaintained between a handheld wirelessphone and a pacemaker to avoidpotential interference with thepacemaker. These recommendations areconsistent with the independent researchby and recommendations of WirelessTechnology Research. Persons withpacemakers:• Should always keep the phone morethan 6 inches (20 cm) from theirpacemaker when the phone isswitched on• Should not carry the phone in a breastpocket• Should use the ear opposite thepacemaker to minimize the potentialfor interference.• Switch off the phone immediately ifyou have any reason to suspect thatinterference is taking place.HEARING AIDSSome digital wireless phones mayinterfere with some hearing aids. In theevent of such interference, you may wantto consult your service provider.Other medical devicesOperation of any radio transmittingequipment, including cellular phones,may interfere with the functionality ofinadequately protected medical devices.Consult a physician or the manufacturerof the medical device to determine if theyare adequately shielded from external RFenergy or if you have any questions.Switch off your phone in health carefacilities when any regulations posted inthese areas instruct you to do so.Hospitals or health care facilities may beusing equipment that could be sensitiveto external RF energy.
