Do not switch on thephone when wireless phone use isprohibited or when it may causeinterference or danger.Your phone has a variety of securityfeatures that help prevent some of thefollowing:• Placing accidental or unintentionalcalls.• Unauthorized use of your phone.• Placing and accepting calls fromcertain phone numbers• Accidental erasing of information orrestoring factory settings.• LOCK KEYPAD (KEYGUARD)With keypad lock (Keyguard) you cantemporarily lock your phone’s keypad andprevent the accidental placing of calls orpressing of the keypad (for example,when the phone is in your pocket or inyour purse).Activate/deactivate KeyguardPress Menu followed by */+ (within threeseconds) to activate Keyguard. It ispossible to answer a call, even thoughKeyguard is activated. Press the Send keyto answer the call. When the call hasended, the keypad remains locked.Important: appears at thetop of the display. The leftsoftkey is also labeled Unlock.UNLOCK KEYPADPress Unlock followed by */+ (withinthree seconds) to deactivate Keyguardand unlock your phone’s keypad.Important: When the phone islocked, calls may be possible tothe emergency numberprogrammed into your phone (forexample, 911 or other officialemergency number).• SECURITY CODEYour phone prompts you for a five-digitsecurity code for certain features andcommands. Access is granted only afterthe correct security code has beenentered successfully.Your phone’s default security code is12345. It’s recommended that youchange this code at once, write it down,and store it in a safe place away fromyour phone.Important: When entering yoursecurity code, ***** isdisplayed on the screen to keepothers from viewing your code.Correct entry errorsYou can delete the last entered digit bypressing Clear (or by pressing and holdingClear to delete all the digits more quickly).Enter the correct code or press Back toexit.
