O r g a n i z e r45Maps and GPSYou can use the Global Positioning System (GPS) to support the Maps application.Find out your location, or measure distances and plot coordinates. Before you can use the GPS function with your device, you may need to pair yourdevice with a compatible external GPS receiver using Bluetooth wirelesstechnology. For more information, see the user guide for your GPS device.Once the internal GPS receiver in your device locates a satellite signal, it may takeseveral minutes for the device to display the current location. Subsequentconnections should be faster, but if you have not used GPS for several days, or arevery far away from the last place you used it, it may take several minutes to detectand display your location. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is operated by the government of the UnitedStates, which is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. The accuracyof location data can be affected by adjustments to GPS satellites made by theUnited States government and is subject to change with the United StatesDepartment of Defense civil GPS policy and the Federal Radionavigation Plan.Accuracy can also be affected by poor satellite geometry. Availability and quality ofGPS signals may be affected by your location, buildings, natural obstacles, andweather conditions. GPS signals may not be available inside buildings orunderground and may be impaired by materials such as concrete and metal.GPS should not be used for precise location measurement, and you should neverrely solely on location data from the GPS receiver and cellular radio networks forpositioning or navigation.
