34A number assignment module, or NAM, consists of a phonenumber and network information that the service providerprograms into your phone. When you select a NAM, you’renot only selecting a phone number, you’re also selecting ahome system in which you will not be charged roaming fees.The two NAMs are not equal. Some features, such as systemselection (see page 35) and network feature setting (seepage 29), are available only when the primary NAM isselected.Use Menu 4 5 to select a NAM.Send own numberThis network service allows you to hide your phone numberfrom a person you are calling who has Caller ID. (If for somereason your network prevents phone numbers from beingdisplayed, you may be able to use this feature to show yournumber to the person you are calling.) Contact your serviceprovider for feature codes for showing/hiding your phonenumber.Standard method1 Dial the feature code followed by the number you wantto call.2 Press Call.Example: If the feature code to hide your number is *67 andthe number you want to dial is (214) 555-1234, dial*672145551234, then press Call.Menu methodYou can save the feature code given by your service providerso that Send own number appears in your phone’s menu,and then use Menu 4 4 5 to use this feature.
