Set up your phone■ AntennaYour phone has two antennas:• The retractable antenna is active whenfully extended (1).• The internal antenna is always active (2).In the Nokia 6016i phone, the GPS antenna isalso internal and is activated when placingemergency calls or when On is selected fromthe Location info sharing menu. For moreinformation on location info sharing,see "Location info sharing," p. 40.Your device has an internal antenna locatedtowards the top of the phone. Hold the phoneas you would any other telephone with theantenna area pointed up and over your shoulder.Your device has an external antenna. Extend the external antennaas far as possible while in use.Note: As with any other radio transmittingdevice, do not touch either of the antennasunnecessarily when the device is switched on.Contact with the antenna affects call quality andmay cause the device to operate at a higherpower level than otherwise needed. Not touchingthe antenna area during a phone call optimizesthe antenna performance and the battery life.■ Change the batteryAlways switch the device off, and disconnect the charger before removingthe battery.Warning: Use only batteries, chargers, and enhancements approved byNokia for use with this particular model.
