The appearance of a message may vary depending on thereceiving device.■ Text messages (SMS)Using the short message service (SMS) you can send and receive multipartmessages made of several ordinary text messages (network service).Before you can send any text or e-mail message, you must save your messagecenter number. See "Message settings," p. 38.To check SMS e-mail service availability and to subscribe to the service, contactyour service provider.Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limitfor a single message. Longer messages are sent as a series of two or moremessages. Your service provider may charge accordingly. Characters that useaccents or other marks, and characters from some language options likeChinese, take up more space limiting the number of characters that can besent in a single message.At the top of the display, you can see the message length indicator countingbackwards from the maximum number of characters supported by the phone.
