M e n u f u n c t i o n s64■ Push to talkPush to talk over cellular (PTT) is a two-way radio service availableover a GSM/GPRS cellular network (network service). The PTT functioncan be used only if it is supported by your network operator or service provider.PTT provides direct voice communication; to connect, push the volume up key.You can use PTT to have a conversation with one person or with a group of peoplehaving compatible devices. When your call is connected, the person or group youare calling does not have to answer the phone. The participants should confirmthe reception of any communications where appropriate, as there is no otherconfirmation whether the recipients have heard the call.To check availability and costs, and to subscribe to the service, contact yournetwork operator or service provider. Roaming services may be more limited thanfor normal calls.Before you can use the PTT service, you must define the required PTT servicesettings. See "PTT settings," page 68.While you are connected to the PTT service, you can use the other functions ofthe phone. The PTT over cellular service is not connected to traditional voicecommunication, and therefore many of the services available for traditional voice calls(for example, voice mailbox) are not available for PTT over cellular communications.PTT menuSelect Menu > Push to talk.To connect to or disconnect from the PTT service, select Switch PTT on or SwitchPTT off.To view the received callback requests, select Callback inbox.To view the list of PTT groups, select Group list.To view the list of contacts to which you have added the PTT address receivedfrom the service provider, select Contacts list.To add a new PTT group to the phone, select Add group.To set the PTT settings for use, select PTT settings.To set the required settings for the PTT connection, select Configuration settings.To open the browser and to connect to the PTT network portal provided by theservice provider, select Web.
