Set up your phone■ AntennaYour device has two antennas:• The fixed antenna is active unless the extendableantenna is fully extended.In the Nokia 6255i and 6256i phone, the GPS antenna isalso internal and is activated when placing emergencycalls or when On is selected from the Location info sharingmenu. For more information on location info sharing, see“Location info sharing”, page 65.Your device has a fixed and extendable antenna locatedtowards the top of the phone when the fold is closed.Hold the phone as you would any other telephone withthe antenna area pointed up and over your shoulder.Note: As with any other radio transmittingdevice, do not touch the antenna unnecessarilywhen the device is switched on. Contact withthe antenna affects call quality and maycause the phone to operate at a higher powerlevel than otherwise needed. Not touching theantenna area during a phone call optimizesthe antenna performance and the talktime ofyour device.■ BatteryNote: Before removing the cover, always switch off the power and disconnectthe charger and any other device.Avoid touching electronic components while changing the covers.Always store and use the device with the covers attached.
