To change the code, and toset the phone to request the code, see “Security,” p. 72.If you enter an incorrect security code five times in succession, the phoneignores further entries of the code. Wait for 5 minutes, and enter thecode again.PIN codesThe personal identification number (PIN) code and the universal personalidentification number (UPIN) code (4 to 8 digits) help to protect yourSmartChip against unauthorized use. See “Security,” p. 72. The PIN codeis usually supplied with the SmartChip. Set the phone to request the PINcode each time the phone is switched on.The PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits) may be supplied with the SmartChip and isrequired for some functions.The module PIN is required to access the information in the securitymodule. See “Security module,” p. 49. The module PIN is supplied withthe SmartChip if the SmartChip has a security module in it.The signing PIN is required for the digital signature. See “Digitalsignature,” p. 50. The signing PIN is supplied with the SmartChip if theSmartChip has a security module in it.PUK codesThe personal unblocking key (PUK) code and the universal personalunblocking key (UPUK) code (8 digits) is required to change a blockedPIN code and UPIN code, respectively. The PUK2 code is required tochange a blocked PIN2 code.If the codes are not supplied with the SmartChip, contact your serviceprovider for the codes.
