To change the code, and to setthe phone to request the code,see “Security,” p. 54.If you enter an incorrect security codefive times in succession, the phoneignores further entries of the code.Wait for 5 minutes, and enter the codeagain.PIN codesThe personal identification number(PIN) code and the universal personalidentification number (UPIN) code(4 to 8 digits) help to protect your SIMcard against unauthorized use.See “Security,” p. 54. The PIN code isusually supplied with the SIM card. Setthe phone to request the PIN code eachtime the phone is switched on.The PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits) may besupplied with the SIM card and isrequired for some functions.The module PIN is required to accessthe information in the security module.See “Security module,” p. 80.The module PIN is supplied with theSIM card if the SIM card has a securitymodule in it.The signing PIN is required for thedigital signature. See “Digitalsignature,” p. 81. The signing PIN issupplied with the SIM card if the SIMcard has a security module in it.PUK codesThe personal unblocking key (PUK)code and the universal personalunblocking key (UPUK) code (8 digits)is required to change a blocked PINcode and UPIN code, respectively.If the codes are not supplied with theSIM card, contact your service providerfor the codes.Barring passwordThe barring password (4 digits) isrequired when you use the Call barringservice. See “Security,” p. 54. You canobtain the password from your serviceprovider.
