To improve the signal strength on your phone, extend the antenna. Aninternal GPS antenna is activated when you place an emergency call or when youselect the Location mode from the Menu > Setting & Tools > System menu. See"Location," p. 45.Hold the device as you would any other telephone withthe antenna area pointed up and over your shoulder.Note: As with any other radio transmittingdevice, do not touch the antenna unnecessarilywhen the device is switched on. Contact withthe antenna affects call quality and may causethe device to operate at a higher power levelthan otherwise needed. Avoiding contact withthe antenna while operating the deviceoptimizes antenna performance and battery life.■ Change batteryThe battery is built into the back cover. Before removing the cover, always switchoff the power and disconnect the charger and any other device. Avoid touchingelectronic components while changing the cover. Always store and use thedevice with the cover attached.
