To ensureinteroperability, use only dual voltage MMCs. Check thecompatibility of an MMC with its manufacturer orprovider.Press , and select Tools > Memory. You can use amemory card as extra storage space. See the Quick StartGuide, ‘Inserting the memory card’. You can also back upinformation from phone memory, and restore theinformation to the phone later.You cannot use the memory card if the door of the memorycard slot is open.Keep all memory cards out of the reach of small children.Do not open the memory card slot door in the middle of anoperation. Opening the slot door may damage the memorycard as well as the device, and data stored on the card maybe corrupted.Options in the memory card tool are Backup phonemem., Restore from card, Format mem. card,Memory card name, Memory details, Help, and Exit.Use only compatible MultiMediaCards (MMC) with thisdevice. Other memory cards, such as Secure Digital (SD)cards, do not fit in the MMC card slot and are notcompatible with this device. Using an incompatiblememory card may damage the memory card as well as thedevice, and data stored on the incompatible card may becorrupted.• To back up information from phone memory to amemory card, select Options > Backup phone mem.• To restore information from the memory card to thephone memory, select Options > Restore from card.Format a memory cardWhen a memory card is formatted, all data on the card ispermanently lost.Tip! To rename a memory card, select Options >Memory card name.Some memory cards are supplied preformatted and othersrequire formatting. Consult your retailer to find out if youmust format the memory card before you can use it.
