P u s h t o t a l k7115. Push to talkPush to talk (PTT) over cellular is a two-way radio serviceavailable over a GSM/GPRS cellular network (network service). PTTprovides direct voice communication. To connect, press and hold thevolume up (PTT) key.You can use PTT to have a conversation with one person or with a groupof people having compatible devices. When your call is connected, theperson or group you are calling does not have to answer the phone. Theparticipants should confirm the reception of any communications whereappropriate, as there is no other confirmation whether the recipientshave heard the call.To check availability and costs, and to subscribe to the service, contactyour service provider. Roaming services may be more limited than fornormal calls.Before you can use the PTT service, you must define the required PTTservice settings. See “PTT settings,” p. 77.While you are connected to the PTT service, you can use the otherfunctions of the phone. The PTT over cellular service is not connected totraditional voice communication, and therefore many of the servicesavailable for traditional voice calls (for example, voice mailbox) are notavailable for PTT over cellular communications.■ Push to talk menuSelect Menu > Push to talk.To connect to or disconnect from the PTT service, select Switch PTT on orSwitch PTT off.To view the received callback requests, select Callback inbox.To view the list of PTT groups, select Group list.To view the list of contacts to which you have added the PTT addressreceived from the service provider, select Contacts list.To add a new PTT group to the phone, select Add group.
