For more details aboutmessaging services, check with your service provider.■ Text messages (SMS)Your device supports the sending and receiving of text messages beyond thenormal 160-character limit. If your message, which also can contain pictures,exceeds 160 characters, it will be sent as a series of two or more messages(multipart message). Invoicing may be based on the number of ordinary messagesthat are required for a multipart message.At the top of the display, you can see the message length indicator countingbackwards from 160. For example, 10/2 means that you can still add 10 charactersfor the text to be sent as two messages. Note that special (Unicode) characterssuch as ë, â, á, ì take up more space.Before you can send a message, you must save some message settings. See Textand SMS e-mail message settings on page 45.
