BluetoothUse Bluetooth technology to connect your compatible laptop to the internet. Your phonemust have activated a service provider that supports internet access, and your PC hasto support Bluetooth PAN (personal area network). After connecting to the networkaccess point (NAP) service of the phone and pairing with your PC, your phoneautomatically opens a packet data connection to the internet. PC Suite softwareinstallation is not necessary when using the NAP service of the phone. See "Bluetoothwireless technology," p. 42.Data communication applicationsFor information on using a data communication application, refer to the documentationprovided with it.Making or answering phone calls during a computer connection is not recommendedas it might disrupt the operation. For better performance during data calls, place the device on a stationary surface withthe keypad facing downward. Do not move the device during a data call. For example,do not hold the device during a data call.20. Battery informationCharging and dischargingYour device is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged anddischarged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When the talk and standbytimes are noticeably shorter than normal, replace the battery. Use only Nokia approvedbatteries, and recharge your battery only with Nokia approved chargers designated forthis device. If a replacement battery is being used for the first time or if the battery has not beenused for a prolonged period, it may be necessary to connect the charger, then disconnectand reconnect it to begin charging the battery.Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leavea fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging may shorten itslifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the chargingindicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never use any charger or battery that isdamaged.Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallicobject such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the positive (+) andnegative (-) terminals of the battery. (These look like metal strips on the battery.) ThisB a t t e r y i n f o r m a t i o n© 2007 Nokia. All rights reserved. 69
