Themessages are organised into folders.Text and picture messages(SMS)Your phone supports the sending oftext messages beyond the 160characters limit (network service). Ifyour message exceeds this limit, itwill be sent as a series of two ormore messages.Text messages can contain pictures.Each picture message is made up ofseveral text messages. Therefore,sending one picture message maycost more than sending one textmessage.Before you can send text or picturemessages, you need to save yourmessage centre number, see”Message settings” on page 31.Note: The picture messagefunction can be used only ifit is supported by yournetwork operator or serviceprovider. Only phones thatoffer picture messagefeatures can receive anddisplay picture messages.Writing and sending a text orpicture message1. Press Menu in standby mode, andselect Messages, Text messagesand Create message. OR: Pressleft in standby mode.2. Key in the message, see ”Writingtext” on page 14.At the top the display, you cansee the message length indicatorcounting backwards from 160.For example, 10/2 means thatyou can still add 10 charactersfor the text to be sent as twomessages.Using special (Unicode)characters such as ’á’ takes upmore space. Note that predictivetext input may use Unicodecharacters.• To insert a picture into themessage, press Options andselect Insert picture. The list offolders in the Gallery is shown,see page 56. Scroll to the desiredpicture, press Options and selectInsert. There are no presetpictures for picture messages inthe phone.
