However, certain electronic equipment might not be shieldedagainst the RF signals from your wireless phone. The following foursubsections provide more information about this topic.PacemakersPacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 6inches (20 cm) should be maintained between a handheld wireless phoneand a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. These recommendations are consistent with the independent research byand recommendations of Wireless Technology Research. Persons withpacemakers:• Should always keep the phone more than 6 inches (20 cm) from theirpacemakers when the phone is switched on.• Should not carry the phone in a breast pocket.• Should use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potentialfor interference.Note: If you have any reason to suspect that interference is takingplace, switch off your phone immediately.Hearing aidsSome digital wireless phones could interfere with some hearing aids. Inthe event of such interference, you might want to consult your serviceprovider.Other medical devicesOperation of any radio transmitting equipment, including cellular phones, could interfere with the functionality of inadequately protected medicaldevices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device todetermine if they are adequately shielded from external RF energy. Alsocontact these authorities if you have any questions.
