To savebattery power, note the following:• Features that use Bluetoothtechnology, or allowing suchfeatures to run in the backgroundwhile using other features,increase the demand on batterypower. Deactivate Bluetoothtechnology when you do not needit.• If you have set Packet dataconnection to When available inconnection settings, and there isno packet data coverage (GPRS),the device periodically tries toestablish a packet dataconnection. To prolong theoperating time of your device,select > Settings > Settingsand Connection > Packet data >Packet data connection > Whenneeded.• The Maps application downloadsnew map information when youscroll to new areas on the map,which increases the demand onbattery power. You can preventthe automatic download of newmaps.• If the signal strength of the cellularnetwork varies much in your area,your device must scan for theavailable network repeatedly. Thisincreases the demand on batterypower.If the network mode is set to dualmode in the network settings, thedevice searches for the 3Gnetwork. You can set the device touse only the GSM network.
