Connectthe USB data cable to the bottom of the device. Connectthe other end of the data cable to a compatible PC, andwait for the PC to recognize your device.Use IP passthrough as you use any Internet access pointto browse or synchronize remotely. If a wireless networkconnection is unavailable, use IP passthrough to accessthe Internet or a LAN. You cannot use IP passthrough atthe same time as Nokia PC Suite. You cannot activate themodem if you select IP passthrough in cable connectionsettings.Selecting an Internet accesspointWhen you establish an Internet connection, you are askedto select the Internet access point you want to use forthat connection. Select an Internet access point from theTip: The Select access point dialog opens only ifyou have selected Always ask in the Access pointfield in the Web settings. Otherwise, theselected default Internet access point is used.To check the status of the setting, selectMenu→ Web→ Options→ Settings.Access point groupsSelect Menu→ Tools→ Settings→ Connection→ Accesspoint groups.An access point group is used for grouping and prioritizingaccess points. An application can use a group as aconnection method instead of a single access point. Inthat case the best available access point inside a group isused for making connection and in case of email, also forroaming.To create an access point group, select Access pointgroups→ Options→ New groups. In the Group name field,enter a name for the group. Define in the Conn. switchingfield whether to show the connection switching processon the display of your device. Choose and edit the accesspoints that belong to this group in the Access pointssection.
