If not,contact your service provider for the correct settings,order the settings from your service provider in aconfiguration message, or use the Settings wizardapplication.Text message settingsSelect Menu > Communic. > Messaging >Options > Settings > Text message.Select from the following:• Message centres — View the available messagecentres for your device, or create a new one.• Message centre in use — Select a message centreto send the message.• Character encoding — Select Reduced support touse automatic character conversion to anotherencoding system when available.• Receive report — Select Yes if you want thenetwork to send you delivery reports on yourmessages (network service).• Message validity — Select how long the messagecentre resends your message if the first attempt fails(network service). If the recipient cannot be reachedwithin the validity period, the message is deletedfrom the message centre.• Message sent as — Convert the message to anotherformat, such as Text, Fax, Paging, or E-mail.Change this option only if you are sure that yourmessage centre is able to convert text messages intothese other formats. Contact your service provider.• Preferred connection — Select the preferredmethod of connection when sending text messagesfrom your device.• Reply via same centre — Select whether you wantthe reply message to be sent using the same textmessage centre number (network service).Multimedia messagesettingsSelect Menu > Communic. > Messaging >Options > Settings > Multimedia message.Select from the following:• Image size — Select Small or Large to scale imagesin multimedia messages. Select Original tomaintain the original image size.• MMS creation mode — Select Restricted to haveyour device prevent you from including content inmultimedia messages that may not be supported bythe network or the receiving device. To receivewarnings about including such content, selectGuided. To create a multimedia message with norestrictions on attachment type, select Free. If youselect Restricted, creating multimediapresentations is not possible. 59 Messaging
