I n t r o d u c t i o n6IntroductionThe Nokia Wireless GPS Module is a battery operated device that usesBluetooth wireless technology to communicate positioning informationto compatible mobile phones, PCs, PDAs, and other devices. With the GPSmodule, you can determine your current position and direction.Read this user guide carefully before using the GPS module. Check alsohttp://www.nokia.com/support or your local Nokia Web site for the latestversion of this guide, additional information, downloads, and servicesrelated to your Nokia product.Note: There may be restrictions on using Bluetooth devices in somelocations. Check with your local authorities or service provider.Using Bluetooth features, or allowing them to run in the backgroundwhile using other features, increases the demand on battery power andreduces the battery life.■ Global positioning system (GPS)The GPS is a worldwide radio navigation system that includes 24 satellitesand their ground stations that monitor the operation of the satellites.A GPS terminal (such as the Nokia Wireless GPS Module) receives low-power radio signals from the satellites and measures the travel time ofthe signal. From the travel time, the GPS terminal can calculate itslocation to an accuracy of 82 feet (25 meters).
