Data, settings, and web servicemessagesYour device can receive many kinds of messagesthat contain data, such as business cards, ringingtones, operator logos, calendar entries, and e-mailnotifications. You may also receive settings fromyour service provider or company informationmanagement department in a configurationmessage.To save the data from the message, selectOptions and the corresponding option.Web service messages are notifications (forexample, news headlines) and may contain a textmessage or a link. For availability and subscription,contact your service provider.MailboxDefine the e-mail settingsTip: Use Settings wizard to define yourmailbox settings. Press , and selectTools > Utilities > Sett. wizard.To use e-mail, you must have a valid internet accesspoint (IAP) in the device and define your e-mailsettings correctly. See "Access points", p. 156. See"E-mail settings", p. 115.You must have a separate e-mail account. Followthe instructions given by your remote mailbox andinternet service provider (ISP).If you select Mailbox in the Messaging main viewand have not set up your e-mail account, you areprompted to do so. To start creating the e-mailsettings with the mailbox guide, select Start.When you create a new mailbox, the name you giveto the mailbox replaces Mailbox in the Messagingmain view. You can have up to six mailboxes.Open the mailboxPress , and select Messaging and a mailbox.When you open the mailbox, the device asks if youwant to connect to the mailbox (Connect tomailbox?).To connect to your mailbox and retrieve new e-mailheadings or messages, select Yes.
