Section 2D: Controlling Your Roaming Experience 58Controlling Roaming Charges UsingCall GuardYour phone has two ways of alerting you when you are roaming offthe Sprint Nationwide PCS Network: the roaming icon and CallGuard. Call Guard makes it easy to manage your roaming charges byrequiring an extra step before you can place or answer a roamingcall. (This additional step is not required when you make or receivecalls while on the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.)To turn Call Guard on or off:1. Press Menu, scroll to Settings, and press Select.2. Scroll to Roaming and press Select.3. Scroll to Call guard and press Select.4. Highlight On or Off and press Select.To place roaming calls with Call Guard on:1. From the standby mode, enter a phone number. (You can alsoinitiate a call from the Phone Book and Call Logs.)2. Press . (The message “Roaming rate applies. Place call?”is displayed.)3. Press OK to place the call.To answer incoming roaming calls with Call Guard on:1. To answer a roaming call (the message “Roam call” isdisplayed), press Answer. (The message “Roam rate applies.Answer call?” is displayed.)2.
