and your device is locked, you must take the device to a Nokiaauthorised service facility and additional charges may apply.To unlock the device, the software must be reloaded, and thedata you have saved in the device may be lost.You can also lock the device remotely by sending a textmessage to the device. To enable remote locking, and todefine the text for the message, select Menu > Settings >Settings and General > Security > Phone and SIMcard > Remote phone locking > Enabled. Enter theremote lock message, and confirm the message. The messagemust be at least 5 characters long. Write down the text, asyou may need it later.Memory card securitySelect Menu > Applications > Organiser > File mgr..You can protect a memory card with a password to preventunauthorised access. To set a password, select Options >Memory card password > Set. The password can be up to8 characters long and is case-sensitive. The password isstored in your device. You do not need to enter it again whileyou use the memory card on the same device. If you use thememory card on another device, you are asked for thepassword. Not all memory cards support passwordprotection.To remove the memory card password, select Options >Memory card password > Remove. When you remove thepassword, the data on the memory card is not protectedagainst unauthorised use.To open a locked memory card, select Options > Unlockmemory card. Enter the password.If you cannot recall the password to unlock a locked memorycard, you may reformat the card, in which case the card isunlocked and password removed. Formatting a memory carddeletes all data stored on the card.Certificate managerSelect Menu > Settings > Settings and General >Security > Certificate management.Digital certificates are used to verify the origins of softwarebut do not guarantee safety. There are four different types ofcertificates: authority certificates, personal certificates,trusted site certificates, and device certificates. During asecure connection, a server may send a server certificate toyour device. Upon receipt, it is checked through an authoritycertificate stored in your device. You receive notification ifthe identity of the server is not authentic or if you do not havethe correct certificate in your device.You can download a certificate from a website, or receive acertificate as a message. Certificates should be used whenyou connect to an online bank or a remote server to transferconfidential information.
