164.4.2 Mounting on the BoomFigure 11 – Main Roll Sensor Mounting Locations1. When mounting the UC4 main roll sensor and target, first, determine whetheryour sprayer will allow the roll sensor to be mounted in front of the boom(preferred).NOTE: Sprayers that use parallel links to move the main section usuallyallow for the sensor and target to be mounted in front of theboom. Some sprayers using a vertical main rack system will notallow them to be mounted in front of the boom.2. Determine a proper mounting location for the main roll sensor and target.Following are General Mounting Rules for the sensor and target, and thedetails are shown in Figure 12 and Figure 13:• The sensor must have a 12-inch diameter clear view of the ground without anyobstructions (e.g. Nozzles, Hoses, Fenders).• The sensor and target are to be mounted as far outward from the center of theboom as possible (See FRONT VIEW of Figure 13).• The sensor and target are to be mounted as low as possible while maintainingthe height requirements as shown in Figure 12.• The bottom of the sensor should be between 18" to 22" above the target as shownin Figure 12.• Ensure that there will be no contact between the sensor/target and the boomswhen folding and unfolding.
