197 Linear Sensors7.1 Testing UC5 Linear Sensors1. Connect a linear sensor to the 2-way terminator and turn on the powersupply.2. Start the UC5 ToolSuite software. In the UC5 Toolsuite Initializationscreen (Figure 14), select the bus monitor being used in the Bus MonitorPort drop-down list. USB to Serial Adapter is the NORAC busmonitor (54645) and PCAN USB is the PEAK bus monitor (54646).Select the units desired for the measurements. If the linear sensor is not communicating properly, the settings screen willnot appear after clicking “OK” in the Initialization screen. Ensure that thepower is turned on and the cabling is connected. If the settings screen isstill not shown, there is a problem with the linear sensor.4. Verify that the serial number displayed matches the serial number on thelinear sensor’s label.5. Verify that when the linear sensor is fully closed (Figure 21), the reading is“NR”. |
