20Inspect and tighten all parts of the elliptical exerciserregularly. Replace any worn parts immediately.To clean the elliptical exerciser, use a damp cloth anda small amount of mild soap. Important: To avoiddamage to the console, keep liquids away fromthe console and keep the console out of directsunlight.BATTERY REPLACEMENTIf the console displays become dim, the batteriesshould be replaced; most console problems are theresult of low batteries. See assembly step 9 on page9 for replacement instructions.HANDGRIP PULSE SENSOR TROUBLESHOOTINGIf the handgrip pulse sensor does not function proper-ly, see step 5 on page 16.HOW TO ELIMINATE RUBBING OF THE DISCSIf the Discs (12) rub against the Side Shields (14, 15)during use, make sure that the Center Foot (40) isattached to the Frame (1). If the Center Foot isattached, loosen the two indicated Bolt Sets (88) andthe two #8 x 1/2" Screws (81) in each side of the ellip-tical exerciser.Adjust the position of the Side Shields (14, 15) untilthe Discs (12) no longer rub against them, and thentighten the Bolt Sets (88) and the #8 x 1/2" Screws(81).HOW TO ADJUST THE BELTIf the pedals slip while you are pedaling, even whilethe resistance is adjusted to the highest setting, thebelt may need to be adjusted. To adjust the belt, firstsee assembly step 12 on page 11 and remove the leftpedal arm and the left link arm.Then, remove thefour screws (notshown) from thecenter of the leftDisc (12). Next,carefully pry offthe left DiscCover (13) usinga flat screwdriver.Gently rotate theDisc Cover andthe Disc awayfrom the elliptical exerciser.Loosen, but donot remove, thethree indicatedscrews (A). Insertthe shaft of ascrewdriverdownwardbetween theIdler (47) and theIdler Pulley (48).Pull the top of thescrewdrivertoward the frontof the elliptical exerciser until the Belt (74) is tight.Then, tighten the three screws.Reattach the left disc with the four screws and thenreattach the left disc cover.
