13HOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERHOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORDThis product must be grounded. If it should mal-function or break down, grounding provides a path ofleast resistance for electric current to reduce the riskof electric shock. This product is equipped with a cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductor and agrounding plug. Plug the power cord into an appro-priate outlet that is properly installed and ground-ed in accordance with all local codes and ordi-nances. This product is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit. IMPORTANT: The elliptical exerciser isnot compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets.A temporary adapter may be used to connect thepower cord to a 2-pole receptacle as shown at theright if a properly grounded outlet is not available. Thetemporary adapter should be used only until a proper-ly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified elec-trician.The green-colored rigidear, lug, orthe likeextendingfrom theadapter mustbe connectedto a perma-nent groundsuch as aproperlygrounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adapter isused, it must be held in place by a metal screw. Some2-pole receptacle outlet box covers are notgrounded. Contact a qualified electrician to deter-mine if the outlet box cover is grounded beforeusing an adapter.HOW TO MOVE THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERDue to the size and weight of the elliptical exercis-er, moving it requires two persons. Stand in front ofthe elliptical exerciser, hold the upright, and place onefoot against one of the front wheels. Pull on theupright and have a second person lift the rear of thetrack until the elliptical exerciser will roll on the frontwheels. Carefully move the elliptical exerciser to thedesired location, and then lower it to the floor.HOW TO LEVEL THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERIf the ellipticalexerciser rocksslightly on yourfloor duringuse, turn one orboth of the lev-eling feetbeneath thebase orbeneath thefront stabilizer until the rocking motion is eliminated. Ifthe elliptical exerciser flexes during use, turn the level-ing foot beneath the center of the frame.DANGER: Improper connection ofthe equipment-grounding conductor canresult in an increased risk of electric shock.Check with a qualified electrician or service-man if you are in doubt as to whether theproduct is properly grounded.
