12HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORDThis product must be grounded. If it should mal-function or break down, grounding provides a path ofleast resistance for electric current to reduce the riskof electric shock. This product is equipped with a cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductor and agrounding plug. Plug the power cord into an appro-priate outlet that is properly installed andgrounded in accordance with all local codes andordinances. This product is for use on a nominal120-volt circuit. IMPORTANT: The elliptical exer-ciser is not compatible with GFCI-equippedoutlets.A temporaryadapter maybe used toconnect thepower cord toa 2-polereceptacle asshown at theright if a prop-erly groundedoutlet is notavailable. Thetemporary adapter should be used only until a prop-erly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualifiedelectrician. The green-colored rigid ear, lug, or the like extendingfrom the adapter must be connected to a permanentground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held inplace by a metal screw. Some 2-pole receptacle out-let box covers are not grounded. Contact aqualified electrician to determine if the outlet boxcover is grounded before using an adapter.HOW TO FOLD AND UNFOLD THE ELLIPTICALEXERCISERWhen the elliptical exerciser is not in use, the framecan be folded out of the way. First, lift the latch undereach pedal arm, and lift the pedal arms off the pedalarm sleeves.Next, raise the pedal arms until they touch the handle-bars; magnets on the pedal arms will hold the pedalarms in place. Then, hold the handle and lift the frameuntil it locks into a vertical position. To unfold the elliptical exerciser, first hold the handle, press the latch button, and lower the frame. Next, pullthe pedal arms away from the handlebars. Then, lift the latches under the pedal arms, and setthe pedal arms on the pedal arm sleeves. Release thelatches, and make sure that the pedal arms aresecurely connected to the pedal arm sleeves.DANGER: Improper connectionof the equipment-grounding conductor canresult in an increased risk of electric shock.Check with a qualified electrician or service-man if you are in doubt as to whether theproduct is properly grounded. Do not modifythe plug provided with the product—if it willnot fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installedby a qualified electrician.Grounded Outlet BoxAdapterLugMetal ScrewPower CordHOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERLatchesHandleSleevePedal ArmsLatch ButtonHandlebars
