MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTINGInspect and tighten all parts of the elliptical regularly.Replace any worn parts immediately.To clean the elliptical, use a damp cloth and a smallamount of mild soap. IMPORTANT: To avoid damageto the console, keep liquids away from the consoleand keep the console out of direct sunlight.HEART RATE MONITOR TROUBLESHOOTINGIf the console does not turn on, make sure that thepower cord is fully plugged in. If lines appear in theconsole display, see HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLESETTINGS on page 27 and adjust the contrast levelof the display.If the console does not display your heart rate whenyou hold the handgrip heart rate monitor, or if the dis-played heart rate appears to be too high or too low, seestep 5 on page 21.HOW TO CALIBRATE THE RAMPIf the ramp is not functioning properly, the ramp mayneed to be calibrated. To calibrate the ramp, pressand hold the Calorie button for several seconds untilthe test mode appears in the display.Press the Calorie button again. Press the 1 StepRamp increase or decrease button to calibrate theramp. The ramp will move upward and downward as itcalibrates.When the ramp stops moving, the ramp is calibrated.Then, press the Calorie button repeatedly to exit thetest mode.HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCHIf the console does not display correct feedback, thereed switch should be adjusted.To adjust thereed switch,first unplug thepower cord.Using a flatscrewdriver,release the tabson the Top Cover(20) and prythe Top Coverupward off theelliptical.20Next, look into the access opening and locate theReed Switch (69). Rotate the Large Pulley (74) until aMagnet (75) is aligned with the Reed Switch.Next, loosen, but do not remove, the indicated M4 x16mm Screw (93). Slide the Reed Switch (69) slightlytoward or away from the Magnet (75). Then, retightenthe M4 x 16mm Screw.Plug in the power cord and rotate the large pulley fora moment. Repeat these actions until the consoledisplays correct feedback. When the reed switch iscorrectly adjusted, reattach the access cover.29
