12HOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERHOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER SUPPLYPlug one end of the included power supply into thejack on the front of the elliptical exerciser (see thedrawing on page 4 for the location of the jack). Plugthe other end of the power supply into an appropriateoutlet that is properly installed in accordance with alllocal codes and ordinances.Note: The console can also be operated with four 1.5V“D” batteries (not included); alkaline batteries are rec-ommended. IMPORTANT: If the elliptical exerciserhas been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it towarm to room temperature before inserting batter-ies into the Console. If you do not do this, theconsole displays or other electronic componentsmay become damaged. To insert batteries into theconsole, remove the two screws, which are markedwith a battery symbol, from the back of the console,and remove the battery cover. Insert four batteries intothe console. Orient the batteries as shown by themarkings inside the battery compartment. Then, reat-tach the battery cover.HOW TO MOVE THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERDue to the size and weight of the elliptical exercis-er, moving it requires two persons. Stand in front ofthe elliptical exerciser, hold the upright, and place onefoot against one of the front wheels. Pull on theupright and have a second person lift the rear of thetrack until the elliptical exerciser will roll on the frontwheels. Carefully move the elliptical exerciser to thedesired location, and then lower it to the floor.HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICALEXERCISERTo mount the elliptical exerciser, hold the handlebarsand step onto the pedal that is in the lower position.Then, step onto the other pedal. Push the pedals untilthey begin to move with a continuous motion. Note:The crank arms can turn in either direction. It isrecommended that you turn the crank arms in thedirection shown by the arrow below; however, forvariety, you can turn the crank arms in the oppo-site direction.To dismount the elliptical exerciser, wait until the ped-als come to a complete stop. Note: The ellipticalexerciser does not have a free wheel; the pedalswill continue to move until the flywheel stops.When the pedals are stationary, step off the higherpedal first. Then, step off the lower pedal.HOW TO LEVEL THE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISERIf the elliptical exerciser rocks slightly on your floorduring use, turn one or both of the leveling feetbeneath the base or beneath the front stabilizer untilthe rocking motion is eliminated.
