F. START-UP1. For heaters with a tamper-proof thermostat, to settemperature, disconnect the power and remove the sockethead cap screw. Set the thermostat to the desired roomtemperature with a screw driver and replace cap screw.2. For heaters with an externally adjustable thermostat, setthermostat to desired temperature by adjusting the dial.NOTE: The thermostat temperature range is 0ºF – 100ºF(-18 ºC– 40ºC) with an operating differential of 5ºF – 7ºF(3 ºC– 4ºC).NOTE: High ambient thermostat temperature range is 0ºF–158ºF(-18ºC–70ºC) with an operating differential of 5ºF – 7ºF(3 ºC– 4ºC).3. Install the terminal box cover and tighten securely.4. Check to ensure that all plugs, screws, and covers aresecurely in place.5. Check associated electrical equipment.6. Check that all wall/floor mounting bracket connectionsare tight.7. Turn on the supply power.WARNINGWARNING. To prevent unsafe operation of the heaterdo not exceed the maximum allowable ambientoperating temperature of 104ºF (40ºC).G. MAINTENANCE1. Periodically inspect the heater installation to ensure that allconnections, fittings, plugs, screws, covers, etc. are tightand free of corrosion.2. Check that the reflector baffles (if required) have not movedupwards or downwards in relation to the heat sink.3. Check the extrusions of the heater for dust and debris.A blast of compressed air is recommended for cleaningthe heat sink. If air is not available, disconnect the powersupply to the heater and when cool, wipe it down witha damp cloth or soft brush. Remove wire guards priorto cleaning.4. The heat sink is anodized or painted black to ensure thatthe maximum area code temperature is not exceeded. After an extended period of use or in extremely harshenvironments the anodization/paint may wear awayleaving bare surfaces. For continued safe operation, thesesurfaces must be repainted. When repainting use onlyblack high temperature resistant paint.5. Except for thermostat replacement, field repair of theheater shall not be normally undertaken. In the event thatthe heater must be repaired, contact the factory for areturn authorization number.H.
