After you successfully load the configuration file andsave your configuration, you can write-protect the memory card for backuppurposes.Typically, you do not operate a Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 with awrite-protected memory card. Make a copy of your configuration onanother memory card, write-protect the second card, and store it in asafe place. If you do not use a second memory card, you can copy yourconfiguration to a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Trivial FTP (TFTP)server.Procedure stepsStep Action1 To remove the card, press the eject button above the memorycard receptacle.2 Pull the card out of the card receptacle.CAUTIONRisk of data lossYou must remove the card from the 8691 SF/CPUmodule or the 8692 SF/CPU module before youchange the read-write protection.
