4GENERATOR FEATURESReference 1 - Muffler. Allow 3’ clearancearound the hot exhaust gas.Reference 2 - Gas Cap.Reference 3 - Engine Stop Sw itch. The rockerengine stop switch is located on the engine. I meansON. O means OFF.Reference 4 - Recoil. Grasp firmly when startingengine.Reference 5 - Air Cleaner. Refer to yourTecumseh engine manual for air cleaner care.Reference 6 - Vibration Isolation Mounts. Theengine and generator are mounted on rubber cylindersthat absorb most of the engine vibration. This featureeliminates the tendency of the machine to “walk” whichis common in engine powered equipment.Reference 7 - Oil Drain Plug. Refer to yourTecumseh engine manual for oil changerecommendations.Reference 8 - Choke Lever. Used during coldstarts. Refer to the starting/stopping instructions andthe Tecumseh engine manual for usage.Reference 9 - DipstickReference 10. Protective Frame. The frameprotects to engine and generator from damage.Reference 11 - Grounding Screw. Ground thegenerator via the grounding screw, to a copper pipe orrod that is driven into moist soil.Reference 12 - 120V Receptacle. The generatorhas a control panel with one duplex (two receptacles ina common housing) receptacle. The duplex is a 120volt (V) 20 amp (A) straight blade receptacle, NationalElectrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) number5-20R. This receptacle accepts NEMA plug numbers5-15P and 5-20P. Each receptacle on the duplex iscapable of drawing 17A simultaneously.Reference 13 - Circuit Breakers. This portablesingle phase generator has two, 17 amp (A) push toreset circuit breakers to protect against electricaloverloads.Reference 14 - 240V Receptacle. This device isa 240V 20A NEMA 6-20R receptacle. This receptacleaccepts a NEMA plug number 6-20P.ALWAYS use grounded male plugs. The neutralline of the generator is mechanically grounded to theframe. Matching NEMA male plugs must always beused.Reference 15 - Generator Head. The electricityproducing part of the generator.Reference 16 – Warning Instructions.Reference 17 - Gas Tank. Alw ays allow roomfor gasoline expansion by not filling the gas tankcompletely full.INTRODUCTIONBefore starting your generator, thoroughly studythe instructions and cautions in this manual to assureyou are fully acquainted with the operation of allcomponents of this generator. Always complete the grounding pathfrom the generator to a copper pipe/rod that is driveninto moist earth, to prevent electrical shock.ALWAYS use electrical cords that are in goodcondition. Worn, bare, frayed or otherwise damagedcords can cause electric shock. |
