8IV.) Attach High Pressure HoseYour pressure washer hose is equipped with quickcouplers. Simply pull the collar back and push thecoupler onto the nipple. Make sure the collar slides overthe ball bearings. Once the connection is made, pull onthe hose to assure a positive connection.V.) Turn Water Supply ONMake sure the hose is not “kinked”. A kinked hose willprovide insufficient water supply to the pump and willreduce its life. Make sure the hose remains unkinkedafter moving the pressure washer.VI.) Squeeze TriggerSqueeze the trigger until a steady flow of water spraysout the nozzle. Make sure all the air is out of the hosesbefore running the pressure washer. This step is veryimportant, it will prolong the pump’s life. NEVER run thepump dry.VII.) Toinstall a nozzle simply pull back the collar and push thenozzle into the coupler. Once the connection is made, pull on the nozzle to assure a tight connection.WARNING: Make sure the nozzle is correctlyinserted. The nozzle may become a projectile if notinserted correctly. Do not attempt to use differenttypes of nozzles that may not fit the coupler.VIII.) Applying ChemicalsWARNING: Only use NorthStar pressure washerchemicals or chemicals specifically formulated forpressure washers. Follow the chemicalmanufacturer’s recommendations. Understand allsafety precautions and first aid for all chemicals.NOTE: Your pressure washer is equipped with a lowpressure chemical injector. The proper chemicalused for the proper application can speed upcleaning jobs tremendously.A.) Place the chemical injection hose onto the chemicalinjector hose barb and submerge the suctionstrainer into the chemical solution.B.) You need to use the black nozzle to spray chemicalsonto the cleaning surface.C.) The amount of chemical applied can be changed byturning the chemical adjustment knob located on thechemical injector.D.) Squeeze the spray gun trigger. The chemicalinjector will draw the chemical into the water streamE.) Apply chemicals evenly to the cleaning surface.Allow the chemicals to react with the dirt, and then cleanat high pressure with green nozzle.F.) Never use more chemical than is necessary to cleanthe surface.IX.) Start Engine*Refer to the engine manual to start yourengine.IMPORTANT: The water must be turned on beforestarting. Running the pump dry will cause damageand void the warranty.IMPORTANT: Make sure the fuel shutoff valvelocated under the fuel tank is in the ON position.WARNING: Check that there are no leaks in thevicinity of the pump before starting engine.Once the engine is started, begin cleaning. If the enginedoesn’t start on the first pull, pressure may build up inthe pump. Relieve the pump pressure by squeezing thespray gun trigger. This will make starting easier.Pump OutletCouplerCollarCORRECT INCORRECTStrainerChemical InjectorDilutedChemicalAdjustment Knob
