Intended Use4The sprayer is intended for use in spraying agricultural pesticides and other non-flammable liquids.SPRAYING PES TICIDES:Pesticides are hazardous chemicals that must be handled with caution as directedthroughout this manual and on the pesticide label. Pesticides are regulated by the UnitedStates Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and defined as:Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling,or mitigating any pest. Though often misunderstood to refer only to insecticides, theterm pesticide is a comprehensive term that applies to insecticides, herbicides,fungicides, and various other substances used to control pests.The sprayer is intended for use in spraying pesticides in liquid form only. The sprayer isNOT intended for use in spraying pesticides in dry or aerosolized form, or for use withfumigants.Some formulations of liquid pesticides do not remain in solution and should be agitatedto maintain a uniform mix. An optional agitator (Item #28520) accessory is available foruse with this sprayer and should be used when spraying pesticides classified as“flowable” (“F” or “L”), “wettable powder” (“WP” or “W”), “emulsion” (“EC” or “E”),“microencapsulated” (“M”), or water dispersible granules (“WDG” or “DF”). (Seepesticide label to determine its classification.)This sprayer comes equipped with a spot spray gun and a broadcast boom. Use the spotspray gun if you desire to apply pesticide only on selected plants. Use the broadcastboom if you wish to spray large ground areas. An optional extended broadcast boom(Item #2820) is available to extend the broadcast spray to 15 feet.SPRAYING OTHER LIQUIDS:In addition to spraying pesticides, this sprayer may be used to spray other non-flammableliquids. Examp le uses include: watering plants/trees or spraying water for dust control,applying ice control chemicals, or applying water-based, non-flammable sealant or stainto outdoor wood surfaces.However, WE RECOMMEND THAT THE SPRAYER NOT B E US ED FOROTHER PURPOS ES ONCE IT HAS ALREADY B EEN US ED FOR SPRAYINGPESTICIDES . Any chemical will leave some residual in the tank liner or sprayercomponents, even after the sprayer has been properly cleaned. These residual chemicalscan have unexpected effects on future uses.
