Washing the rotor, althoughpossible, is not recommended as wash water impurities may contaminate the desiccant.Proper filtration and preventing contact with chemicals will greatly improve the life of thedesiccant. Inspect the face of the rotor to see that no surface damage has occurred. Therotor should turn smoothly upon the shaft.9 PREVENTIVEMAINTENANCE PROGRAMEThe following are somerecommended guidelines formaintaining your NOVATEC,NovaWheel Dryer. Whenfollowed, these suggestionswill help you get years ofadditional service from yourequipment. The following itemsshould be checked onfollowing basis.9.1 BI-WEEKLY BASIS9.1.1 REGENERATION,PROCESS FILTERS :Check for excessive dirt ordebris built up on your processand regenerationfilters.9.1.2 PROCESS TEMPERATURE :The current process temperature can be displayed by reading the digital temperaturedisplayed on the NovaWheel microprocessor controller. Be sure that the desireddrying temperature is being delivered.9.1.3 ROTOR ROTATION:Should be checked and rotation per hour should be reset if disturbed. The rotorrotation should be between 6 to 12 RPH (revolutions per hour).9.2.1 ROTOR SEALS:Visually check the top and bottom silicone seal and ensure that there is no wear andtear of seals and Teflon coatings. The upper seal should be compressed only slightly, toabout 1/32” to 1/16” max (1 to 2 mm). Seal inspection schedule:o After 1 week of operation.o After 3 months of operation.o Annually thereafter or upon loss of performance.
