Selecting backups slows down the update pro-cess. Use this option if you do not have a recent systembackup.8. When you have finished configuring the installationsettings, click Accept.9. Click Start Update to begin the installationAfter completing the basic system setup and the instal-lation of all selected software packages, the installationboots into the updated Linux system, after which youcan configure the hardware and set up system services.If you are updating from CD, leave CD 1 in your CD-ROM drive during the reboot and do not select anyinstallation options, but Boot from Hard Disk. When thereboot is finished, the installation continues and youare prompted to insert the remaining CDs.10. To test your Internet connection, click Yes, Test Connec-tion to the Internet → Next.This option also checks for the latest SUSE Linux Enter-prise Desktop release notes. If you do not want to testthe connection at this point (or check for updated re-lease notes), click No, Skip This Test → Next, thencontinue with Step 13.11. On the Running Internet Connection Test screen, viewthe results of the test, then click Next to continue.12. On the Novell Customer Center Configuration screen,click Configure Now → Next to enable your system foronline updates.Click Configure Later → Next to skip this step andcontinue the installation. You can configure this optionafter the product has been installed.13. After the system configuration has completed, viewthe Release Notes, then click Next.14. On the Installation Completed screen, click Finish toclose the installation and continue to the login screen.15. Type your username in the Username field, then pressEnter.16.
