Fitting the door connector attachmentThe enclosed door connector attachmentis suitable for all Novoferm up-and-over doorsand Novoferm Iso20 sectional doorsPosition door connector attachment (11)centrally on the top edge of the door leaf.Mark fixing holes and drill using 4 mm metaldrill (max. drilling depth 10 mm) or use theexisting drill holes. Screw on attachment usingenclosed self-tapping screws 6.3 x 16 (4 - 6screws up-and-over door, 6 screws - iso20).For other sectional doors, use telescopicfitting (17) (accessory).Attaching the wall bracketTo ensure that the door can run freelyunderneath the boom, distance "x" must begreater than 20mm. Choose distance "x" sothat the angle of the linking bar does notexceed 45° (see figure 11).Mark the door's highest point of travel "a" plusdistance "x" on the lintel.Hold wall fastening (10) at the total height ("a"+ "x") vertically over the door connectorattachment and mark the fixing holes. Using10mm masonry drill, drill holes for wall plugsand screw the wall bracket onto the wall.Suspending the boom from the ceilingAttach central support (13) to boom (8) in frontof the connector (7).Support strapsPositioning the prefitted operator at an angleto the door, screw to wall bracket (10). Lift upoperator, making sure that it cannot fall down,and align in such a way that the boom runshorizontal and parallel between the doortracks.Establish the length of the support strapsfor the operator head and the central support.If necessary, shorten using a saw, and thenscrew in place.Note: Before starting any drilling, cover overboom and operator head to protect them fromdrilling dust.Mark fixing points on the ceiling, drill 10mmholes for plugs and screw on support straps.If the toothed belt or chain appear to be tooslack, slight retensioning may be required. Itmay be necessary to take up the slack byadjusting the support straps.Connecting the door connectorattachment to the carriagePlace linking bar (12) between carriage (4)and the door connector attachment (11) andconnect at both ends with the bolts. Providebolts with security clips. Attach security clips tobolts.Disengaging the carriageTo carry out further work, it may be necessaryto disconnect the operator from the door bypulling the pull cord on carriage (4) and movethe door manually.Note: If the door is to be operated manually fora longer period of time, then the locking pinmust be removed from parking position (a) onthe left and with the pull cord in locking position(b).To relock, return the locking pin into theparking position (a) on the left and restore theconnection between the operator and thedoor. On the next movement, the carriagePlease read these instructions carefullyprior to installation!Installation should only be carried out bypersons qualified to do so!Incorrect installation can put the safety ofpersons at risk!In the case of improper installation, themanufacturer's guarantee becomes void.Preparations for installation1. To allow mains connection, a socket must beavailable on site - the supplied mainsconnecting cable is 80 cm long.2. Check the stability of the door. Retighten thescrews and nuts on the door.3. Check that the door is running smoothly andis in good working order. Lubricate shaftsand bearings. Check the pretension of thesprings and if necessary re-adjust.4. Establish the door's highest point of travel(see figure 6).5. Close the door and disable any existinglocks out of operation, if necessarydismantle.6. For garages without a second entrance, anemergency release is required (accessory).7. If a wicket pass door is included, fit thewicket door contact.8. Insert the light bulb into the operator andfasten the lamp cover with 2 screws 4.2 x 50.The following tools are required- Drilling machine with10mm masonry drill4mm metal drill- Metal saw- Spanner, sizes 10, 13 and 17 mm- Slotted screwdriver, width 3 mm- Phillips screwdriver, size 2 x 100- Spirit levelAttention: Check the supplied screws andwall plugs prior to use to ensure that these aresuitable for the structural conditions on site.Supply package = complete setItems 2 - 9 are pre-assembled.1 - Operator head including40W light bulb,base E272 - Chain sprocket3 - Boom, operator side4 - Carriage5 - Toothed belt or chain6 - Deflection roller7 - Connector8 - Boom, door side9 - Tensioner10 - Wall bracket11 - Door connector attachment12 - Linking bar13 - Central support14 - Bag of screws15 - Hand transmitter includingalkaline battery 23A, 12V16 - Support straps17 - Telescopic fitting for sectional doors(accessory)OverviewBoomRemove the packaging and fold out the boomto its full length.Push connector (7) centrally over the joint.Fastening the boom to operator headSlot boom (as illustrated) with chain sprocket(2) onto the operator shaft (1a) and screwdown with the 4 self-tapping screws.11223344665b5b00889913131212555a5a1010111177Installation instructionsGBRetain these installation, operating and maintenance instructions for the full duration of the operator’s service life!Aligning the aerial / Connecting planNote:- It is essential to pull out the mains plugb e f o r e o p e n i n g t h e c o v e r !- Do not connect any live leads, onlyconnect potential-free buttons andp o t e n t i a l - f r e e r e l a y o u t p u t s .- Finally, re-place the cover and screwdown.- Before using the operator for the firsttime, it must be tested to make sure that itis working properly and safely (seesection on Maintenance / Checks)).E - C o n n e c t i n g t h e a e r i a lOn the housing exit, angle the aerialdown to the right by approx. 90° (asillustrated below).If using an external aerial, the screen isto be connected to the adjacent shieldterminal (F, right).F - Connection for external impulse generator(accessory, e. g. key switch or digitalcoder)G- Input STOP AConnection for safety devices (accessory,e.g. wicket door contact). A break at thisinput end causes the operator to stop orp r e v e n t s i t f r o m s t a r t i n g u p .H - Input STOP BConnection for safety devices(accessory, e.g. one-way photocell). Abreak at this input end causes theoperator to automatically changedirection during the closing cycle.I - Voltage supply 24 V ~(e.g. for one-way photocell), connectioncan take a maximum load of 100 mA.J - P l u g - i n b a s e f o r r a d i o r e c e i v e rK - Connection for external lighting (withearth) or signal light (protection class II,max. 500W).Impulse generators and externalsafety devicesIf there is an increased need for personalsafety, in addition to the operator's internalforce limit we recommend installing a one-wayphotocell (see connecting plan figure 13 ((I)(H)). Pull out the mains plug and disconnect allexisting terminals.2. Disconnect door and operator. Fix door.3. Proceed according to points 3 to 14 of theInstallation Instructions but in reversesequence. |
