CHAPTER 3 MAINTENANCE PROCEDURESOhaus Corporation www.ohaus.com 3-2 Valor™ 2000 Series Service Manual3.3.1 Separating the Top and Bottom HousingsCommon hand tools are sufficient to disassemble the Valor 2000 scales. Turn the scale off andunplug the power cord before you begin.1. Lift off the Weighing Pan from thePan Support.2. Remove the Pan Support: byremoving the bolts and washersthat secure it to the Load Cell andthen lift it off. Check if the washersneed to be replaced due tocorrosion of the rubber inside lining.Figure 3-1. Bolts and washers securingPan Support to Top Housing.3. Turn the scale over. Remove thetwo screws that secure the LFTLock Switch Cover, and lift it off.4. Remove the eight screws holdingthe Housing in place. (See Figure3-1.) Note: six of the screws arelong; the two that secure the frontof the scale are short.5. Carefully separate the Top Housingfrom the Bottom Housing. (Theremay be some resistance caused bythe Seal Gasket.) Avoid strainingthe cable set that connects theMain PCB in the top housing to thePower PCB in the bottom housing. Figure 3-2. Scale Bottom.6. Lay the two housings close to each other, so the PCB cable is not strained.7. Remove cable plugs, component covers, and screws holding cables to the Housing.8. Lift out Seal Gasket. Set it aside.9. To remove the Load Cell, carefullyturn the scale over and remove thetwo bolts and washers that securethe Load Cell to the Top Housing.Check if the washers need to bereplaced due to corrosion of therubber inside lining. Hold the LoadCell from underneath so it doesn’tfall when the bolts are removed. Figure 3-3.
